CMSC828Z: Description of Projects

The goal of the projects in this class is to create an accurate animated computer graphics model from multiple (up to 33) calibrated video sequences. For initial results please see the webpage about Spatio-temporal Reconstruction of Human Head using Multi-resolution Surfaces. Possible projects to choose from are given in the list below. Students can pair up in groups of two and choose one topic together. If you are interested in one of the topics, please send an email to cmsc828z at videogeometry.com and I will put your name behind the project title to indicate that is reserved for you. So whoever sends me email first, can choose first. If you have any questions, feel also free to email me.

The time table for the projects is as follows:

10/11/02: Final decision on project 10/18/02: Outline of project description and discussion of approach in class 11/1/02: Start of student presentations about their project topics 12/6/02: Presentation of project results
Furthermore, I would like to get a feedback email every thursday that summarizes your advances and problems during the last week so that I know where you are at.
