Backpacking in the Smokies I am a Computer Scientist in the Perception group at SRI International in Menlo Park, CA. I obtained my PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland and my dissertation research was on markerless motion capture using computer vision techniques [Download dissertation]. Our motion capture algorithm won the outstanding invention award for 2006 presented by the Office of Technology Commercialization in the Information Science category for 2006. I was a graduate research assistant at the Centre for Automation Research and University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies for a long time. My adviser was Prof. Rama Chellappa. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India in May 2000. I worked at Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd., Bangalore in the Multimedia group from July 2000 until July 2001.
