It has been such a short time, yet the other Name-givers are even more
frantic than they were just a few months ago. I know that I am young, and
that the news of the approaching Horrors arrived before I emerged from the
Liferock, but I still cannot quite comprehend the amount of energy these
Name-givers are putting into their activity. The Brotherhood, too, is
making preparations, and they will be completed as scheduled. Such a short
time until the dome is complete, only another 10 years. I suppose it seems
even shorter to those whose lives are only measured in decades. This bears
thinking about.

I find it fascinating that this journal actually begins before the Scourge.
It offers an unparalleled view of what our world was like so many centuries
ago. The only thing that puzzles me is that this journal seems to have been
written by two entirely different people, though Auryxos assures me that all
of this is his own experience.
