Journal of a Troll Swordmistress
My name is Periwinkle Snowmane and I have no clan. My mother was an Elementalist Er'ka'akul from a Highland Clan whose name she never spoke, her name was Raala Goldeneyes. My father is unknown to me, but Mother said that he was a good man.
I grew up in a small Village near Bartertown and the Coil River, nearby were T'skrang and Elven settlements. The village was a mixture of Humans, Dwarfs and Orcs, there was one family of Trolls but they avoided us because of mother's outcast status. When I was six years old mother died when scorchers attacked the village, she proved her katorr by defending the rest of the village.
The Elves of the woods were much more friendly to me than the local trolls, and at age nine my master chose to teach me. I learned the Art of the Sword from the Elven Swordmaster Allaranidan and he declared me skilled on the eleventh anniversary of my g'tarr. The Elves provided me with the opportunity to complete my Rite of Passage and to complete my tar'a'on when Allaranidan offered to serve as my parent for the ritual. I chose to give honor to my mother by keeping the name my mother gave me, adding only the descriptive Snowmane to my name. Allaranidan gave me my mothers bequest on that day: her sword, which I still carry.
Since that day I have been an adventurer. I have served as a caravan guard, a bodyguard, as champion for an offended merchant and many other things. I have served on T'skrang ships and have defended my honor against those who chose to question it.
I must begin my Journal again. Above I have listed something of who I am, and now I must speak of what has happened. I was working for a group of Dwarfs in the Throal Mountains exploring a possible route to an ancient mine. We were caught in a flash flood and lost nearly all of our goods, and nearly our lives. I only saved the clothes on my back, mothers sword and two of my companions. Our journey back to Bartertown was both cold and hungry but we survived. My savings are now nearly spent and I must find work. Hopefully I can find a competent group of adventurers to join as traveling alone is really far to dangerous, and it may improve my fortunes.
